New Noah's Ark Mural & Animal Artwork Brighten's Up Center Walls

Our Center is getting a bit of a makeover this summer! Thank you, Miss Amy, for sharing your talents and time to paint a lovely Noah’s Ark mural for the Center - and several other animals around our Center.  Every day, we are grateful for our caregivers at the Franciscan Child Day Care Center who always go above and beyond to create a safe, comforting, and joyful space for the children entrusted to our care.

We are also grateful to those who support our Center, including parents, donors and all who participate in our fundraisers. Your generosity enables us to purchase supplies for this and other projects benefiting our children

Construction Update from Sister Janet Gardner

April 13, 2018

Dear Franciscan Child Day Care Center Parents,

I recently had a meeting with the CEO of Penn Cove Realty, the owner of the property hosting our day care center.  At that meeting we were updated on the plans for the property to date. I want to keep you informed of the progress of those plans.

You have noticed that many trees are being removed and a large retention pond is being constructed behind the townhouses on the property.  The retention pond must be completed before any other work can begin.

The parcel on the corner of Grove and McRoberts, up the hill from the day care, is ready for construction of a building of more than 150 independent apartments for Senior citizens.  The field off Hamilton Road is being prepared for a townhouse development with a new public road.

The Franciscan Child Day Care will continue to be housed in the current building. No new construction is being planned. So, we are now planning for ongoing improvements within the day care and in the playground. We also will erect new signage.

Penn Cove Realty will be making improvements to the site and our building as well.  You will be pleased to know that the access road and day care parking lot are being scheduled for pothole filling, resurfacing and new parking lines.  Your safety and that of your children are of utmost importance to us and Penn Cove.

We will continue to keep you updated and ask for your patience during this period of making improvements to our center and of construction all around us. We will be working closely with Penn Cove and the construction companies to assure the environs around the day care remain safe throughout the construction period.  Please let us know of any concerns you may have.
